About the role
- Serve as a technical tax resource for State and Local Taxes on M&A transactions
- Deliver state and local compliance services and value-added consulting solutions through work on multi-state income tax, franchise tax, sales and use tax, gross receipts tax, and property tax matters
- Assist with implementation of tax planning opportunities in the SALT area identified during diligence and manage findings
- Provide coaching and mentoring to staff in the advancement of their individual skills and competencies
- Develop and execute a practice development plan including networking, new client development, and client expansion activities
Requirements
- 5+ years recent tax experience in public accounting with a specialization in SALT tax
- Successful completion of a Bachelor’s Degree
- CPA or Bar License required
- Proficiency in tax planning and reporting issues relevant for corporate consolidated returns, S corporation returns, partnership returns, and state tax returns
- Experience advising clients on the tax implications of various transactions
- Experience supervising staff on engagements and managing client relationships
- Approximately 25% overnight travel is required
