About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide expert methodological and epidemiological advice on data analysis
  • Serve as the primary data science resource among those individuals provided by the contract
  • Assist in developing job exposure matrices taking into account uncertainty from expert assessments
  • Identify appropriate analytical methods or statistical programs to address study objectives
  • Verify, clean, edit, and convert data to ensure it is suitable for analysis
  • Provide statistical programming to achieve statistical objectives or required data manipulation
  • Construct statistical models and graphics
  • Prepare rigorous analyses for manuscripts intended for publication in peer-reviewed journals or CDC publications, often without further validation
  • Collaborate with NIOSH scientists in manuscript preparation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • PhD or ScD in statistics
  • Experience with occupational safety & health research
  • Proficiency with statistical/coding and database software such as SAS, R, Python, MS SQL, or Dataverse
  • Technical/Business Tools Experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Communication tools (Teams, SharePoint)
