About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will be the driving force behind our financial reporting and accounting team.
  • Lead, mentor, and set high standards for our dedicated accounting team, fostering a culture of professional growth, strong performance, and interdepartmental collaboration.
  • Oversee day-to-day fiscal operations, including cash management, weekly payables, wire transfers, and health center cash handling procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Prepare accurate, timely monthly financial statements and analyze results to help leadership understand their data and make informed tactical decisions.
  • Coordinate annual audits, oversee accurate tax filings, and ensure proper accounting treatment and compliance for restricted contributions.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting responsibility (experience in non-profit and/or healthcare accounting is highly preferred).
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting practices, tax laws, and financial regulations.
  • Advanced computer skills, including experience with financial accounting software (MIP and Sage Intacct preferred).
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred, but candidates are highly encouraged to apply if they have a strong combination of these skills, a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and a passion for our mission.
