About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist the Development team in the implementation of fundraising activities
- Provide support to Chief Development Officer, Senior Director of Development, Director of Institutional Giving, and Director of Major and Individual Giving
- Maintain and improve the moves management system
- Ensure deadlines are met for major gift planning timelines
- Lead major gift appeal mailings
- Develop materials to support department goals
- Manage the annual Board Commitment Process
- Support the planned giving program
- Support the Development Data and Operations Manager with the gift entry process
- Track incoming major gifts and coordinate acknowledgement and stewardship activities
- Serve as the team expert on donor research
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of gifts to the Illinois State Board of Elections
- Produce special letters and communications with major gift officers
- Coordinate administrative details associated with the Board of Directors’ participation in fundraising activities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Extraordinary organizational and communication skills
- Strong writing skills
- Ability to cultivate positive, productive relationships with donors and offer excellent customer service
- Research skills, including tenacity, perseverance, and strong results focus
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to carry out duties respecting the sensitive and confidential nature of donor-related information and materials
- A sincere commitment to the mission and philosophy of Planned Parenthood
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred
- One to three years prior fundraising experience preferred, or equivalent experience in a position involving database management, research, and writing
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office software and fundraising database programs required
