About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assists in developing, coordinating and conducting departmental training programs, such as orientation and other onboarding training
  • Ensures affiliate’s procedures meet internal and external quality standards
  • Work with other staff to assure compliance in performance and procedures
  • Provides clinical support to health center staff to maintain skills as needed and determined by the RQM manager
  • Assist RQM Manager in facilitating quarterly auditing requirements and on occasion site visits to monitor clinical quality improvement and infection prevention standards for the agency
  • Tracking and maintaining of training documentation on various elements of performance
  • Assists in quality assurance activities, including accreditation prep, state statutes, local and national regulatory bodies (e.g. CLIA, OSHA, HIPAA) requirements
  • Navigates lab requirements and specimen handling in accordance with standards and guidelines pertain to each individual lab
  • Act as an ambassador of PPFA elements of performance by familiarizing and comprehending elements pertaining to service provision of Patient Services and Research Department
  • Performs or participates in special projects as necessary to meet the goals and mission of the agency
  • Designated affiliate trainer for injections and phlebotomy
  • Assures infection control guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Periodic travel to affiliate locations may be required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED certificate required
  • Two years of laboratory experience
  • Must have proficiency of both front desk and clinical operations and functions within the health center
  • Excellent organizational skills & time management
  • Experienced in venipunctures and injections
  • Exceptional medical assessment skills
  • Familiarity with OSHA and CLIA guidelines; experience with PPFA and Title X standards is desirable
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including listening, communication, empathy, teamwork and emotional intelligence
