About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Partner with department leaders and subject matter experts to understand their workflows, pain points, and goals.
- Elicit, document, and prioritize business requirements through interviews, workshops, and process mapping.
- Translate business needs into clear functional requirements, user stories, and process documentation that IT and vendors can act on.
- Support new system implementations, upgrades, and rollouts — including requirements definition, user acceptance testing, change management, training, and post-launch review.
- Act as a go-to resource for business process questions across Planitar's core operational tools.
- Develop and maintain clear process documentation, standard operating procedures, and user-facing guides.
- Deliver training and ongoing guidance to employees to drive adoption and consistent use of tools and processes.
- Continuously look for opportunities to streamline, simplify, and improve how work gets done across teams.
- Partner with IT to ensure recommended solutions align with security, compliance, and data privacy standards.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3–5+ years of experience in a business analyst or similar role, ideally supporting cross-functional teams.
- Proven track record of gathering requirements, mapping processes, and supporting the implementation of business systems.
- Familiarity with SaaS business applications such as Smartsheets, ZenDesk, HubSpot, Netsuite, or similar (working knowledge is sufficient — you don't need to be an administrator).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for translating between business and technical audiences.
- Excellent documentation habits and a structured, detail-oriented approach.
- Comfort working with IT partners on solution design, without being expected to build or configure systems yourself.
- Business Analysis certification (CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or similar) considered an asset.
