Define and drive the end-to-end product strategy for monitoring imagery, aligning with company priorities and customer needs
Define product requirements for Planet’s newly announced New Generation Monitoring (NGM) mission and strategically make product decisions to ensure a smooth transition to that new product line
Define collection and product requirements for persistent, medium-res systems
Prioritize improvements in cadence, image quality, coverage, cost, and latency, in support of company priorities
Partner with image processing, quality, and engineering teams to improve imagery quality and delivery pipelines
Analyze usage patterns and customer feedback to drive iteration on how we serve specific customer use cases and Planet solutions.
Interface with Platform to drive delivery requirements for monitoring missions
Define success metrics and use data-driven insights to guide product decisions and communicate impact
Champion the voice of the customer to ensure our imagery products enable solutions across industries and use cases
Requirements
6+ years of product management experience, ideally in Earth Observation, geospatial, or related technical domains.
Excellent understanding of satellite imagery, remote sensing, or large-scale data products.
Experience balancing technical trade-offs and customer needs in complex product ecosystems.
Ability to align diverse stakeholders around strategy, priorities, and execution.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value.
Superb analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-informed decision-making approach.
Experience effectively collaborating with Engineering teams and delivering results
Experience working with and meeting the needs of customers
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize appropriately
