About the role
- Work with the production team to deliver animated sequences that match the client's vision and the project brief, as described by the manager and/or supervisor.
- Ability to animate in a variety of styles (creatures, realistic humans, motion capture, vehicles, complex characters, props, cameras, etc.) as required by assigned project(s).
- Sufficient mocap cleanup and 3D roto skills for visual effects.
- Proven mastery of animation software (Maya) for VFX-heavy projects.
- Other miscellaneous duties as required from time to time by the Animation and CG Supervisor.
Requirements
- 5 years of professional experience in VFX and animation for film and television
- Strong knowledge of traditional animation principles for both hard-surface and character animation
- Solid knowledge of rigging/animation setup and 3D character animation
- Advanced knowledge of Maya
- Strong understanding of scene layout to match plates
- Excellent artistic skills with a comprehensive understanding of animation and a strong sense of composition
- Familiarity with software and hardware used in the post-production process
- Demonstrated understanding of visual effects and related pipelines
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Proactive, with the ability to drive a creative vision
- Work must demonstrate the ability to define a character, create smooth and organic movement, and convey storytelling
- Ability to work overtime/weekends when projects require it
- Work effectively to meet tight deadlines
