About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate recruitment activities from posting through hiring
  • Prepare employment agreements and offer packages
  • Conduct new employee orientation and onboarding
  • Maintain accurate employee personnel files and HR records
  • Administer employee leave programs, including vacation, sick leave, statutory leaves, and accommodations
  • Support annual benefits renewals and employee communications
  • Coordinate annual performance review processes
  • Monitor compliance with employment legislation, organizational policies, and collective practices where applicable

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • CPHR designation (or working toward the designation) is considered an asset
  • Minimum 3–5 years of progressive HR experience
  • Experience in the nonprofit, social services, healthcare, or community sector is considered an asset
  • Experience supporting volunteer programs within a nonprofit organization is considered an asset
  • Strong knowledge of the BC Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, WorkSafeBC requirements, and privacy legislation
  • Experience supporting recruitment, employee relations, and HR administration
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with professionalism
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Collage an asset
