About the role
- Manage our enterprise workload automation environment.
- Installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS).
- Ensure timely and accurate execution of business-critical batch jobs and processes.
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain TWS Master Domain Managers, Fault Tolerant Agents (FTAs), and the Dynamic Workload Console (DWC).
- Provide end-to-end job scheduling support, including the definition, modification, and decommissioning of jobs, job streams, calendars, and resources using the DWC or command-line interfaces (CLI).
- Monitor the TWS environment (e.g., Linked agents, job abends), diagnose and resolve system stalls, failed batch jobs, and communication breakdowns within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Participate in the design and implementation of new TWS environments, upgrade and migration projects, and disaster recovery planning and testing.
- Create automation scripts (Shell, Python, Perl) to simplify manual interventions, clean up systems, run health checks, and optimize job streams for performance.
- Manage user access, security permissions, and firewall rules for TWS users/groups and application servers.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all TWS procedures, processes, and configurations, and generate reports/statistics for management.
- Work closely with application teams, infrastructure teams, DBAs, and vendors to ensure seamless integration and problem resolution.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience as an IBM TWS Administrator or in a similar workload automation role.
- Proven experience in a multi-platform environment (UNIX, Linux and/or Windows).
- Hands-on experience with TWS versions 9.5 and above, including the Dynamic Workload Console (DWC).
- Experience with patching and remediating vulnerabilities.
- Maintaining high availability and disaster recovery.
- Experience with other scheduling tools (Argo, Control-M, Autosys) or cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure) is a bonus.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Shell, Python,javascript).
- Strong knowledge of operating systems, networking infrastructure, and database technologies (Oracle and SQL).
- Familiarity with JIRA incident/change management tool.
- Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Willingness to provide on-call support and work off-hours/weekends as needed for maintenance or emergencies.
