About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own and manage a portfolio of mid-market customer accounts, acting as the primary relationship owner for key stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Build trusted, long-term partnerships that drive customer satisfaction, retention, advocacy and commercial growth.
  • Deliver a structured customer engagement strategy through a combination of on-site visits, remote meetings and regular account reviews.
  • Take a customer-centric approach to understanding customer challenges, priorities and business objectives.
  • Drive adoption of the Pinewood.AI platform and AI solutions across customer organisations.
  • Identify areas of underutilisation and work with customers to increase engagement, usage and value realisation.
  • Ensure customers achieve measurable business outcomes and return on investment from the platform.
  • Take ownership of account growth targets, identifying and progressing opportunities to expand customer value and revenue.
  • Identify, develop and execute upsell and cross-sell opportunities across modules, AI solutions, integrations, training and professional services.
  • Lead or support commercial discussions, including renewals, user expansion and value-based pricing conversations.
  • Use a solution-selling approach to position relevant products and services against customer needs and business challenges.
  • Develop and maintain strategic account plans, using customer data, platform usage insights and business objectives to identify growth opportunities.
  • Conduct regular business reviews, agreeing clear actions, outcomes and next steps with customers.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Support, Delivery and Sales teams to resolve customer challenges and improve the overall customer experience.
  • Communicate effectively across internal teams, ensuring customer feedback, risks, opportunities and priorities are clearly understood and acted on.
  • Provide customer feedback and market insight to internal teams to support product development, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, opportunities, sales activity and pipeline information within Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven experience in account management, customer success or SaaS sales.
  • A strong customer-first mindset, with the ability to build trusted relationships and deliver excellent account management.
  • Good understanding of automotive dealership operations, systems and processes, including Dealer Management System (DMS) environments.
  • Experience selling software, technology solutions or services to automotive retailers.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with mid-level and senior stakeholders.
  • Commercially minded, with experience working towards sales, retention or account growth targets.
  • A track record of identifying and closing growth opportunities within existing customer accounts.
  • Ability to understand customer challenges and align technology solutions to business needs.
  • Experience taking a consultative, solution-led approach to customer conversations.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and customer relationships effectively.
  • Ability to analyse customer performance, usage data and business trends to drive account growth.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally within a fast-paced SaaS environment.
  • Motivated by solving customer challenges, delivering value and achieving commercial outcomes.
  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics or similar CRM platforms.
  • Experience working directly within automotive retail environments (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of the Pinewood.AI platform or comparable automotive retail technology solutions (Desirable)
  • Strong understanding of customer lifecycle management, account planning and account development methodologies (Desirable)
