About the role

  • Provide high-quality, low-barrier holistic legal services to victims in Maine
  • Provide legal services to victims of domestic and sexual violence in Androscoggin, Oxford, and Franklin Counties
  • Occasional coverage for FLVR cases in other areas of Maine on an as-needed basis
  • Collaborate within a statewide team specializing in domestic and sexual violence cases
  • Provide legal representation in appropriate cases with the highest impact
  • Focus on protection from abuse, family matters, and education cases
  • Consult and collaborate with other service providers and community response teams
  • Participate in working groups and coalitions to improve systems addressing domestic violence issues
  • Engage with the community to strengthen access to legal services and outreach efforts

Requirements

  • Must be admitted to the practice of law in Maine or be eligible to practice under MRCP 11(c) while working at Pine Tree
  • Previous experience working with survivors of domestic and sexual violence preferred
  • Previous litigation experience preferred
  • Applicant must reside in, or be willing to relocate to, the state of Maine
