About the role
- Provide high-quality, low-barrier holistic legal services to victims in Maine
- Provide legal services to victims of domestic and sexual violence in Androscoggin, Oxford, and Franklin Counties
- Occasional coverage for FLVR cases in other areas of Maine on an as-needed basis
- Collaborate within a statewide team specializing in domestic and sexual violence cases
- Provide legal representation in appropriate cases with the highest impact
- Focus on protection from abuse, family matters, and education cases
- Consult and collaborate with other service providers and community response teams
- Participate in working groups and coalitions to improve systems addressing domestic violence issues
- Engage with the community to strengthen access to legal services and outreach efforts
Requirements
- Must be admitted to the practice of law in Maine or be eligible to practice under MRCP 11(c) while working at Pine Tree
- Previous experience working with survivors of domestic and sexual violence preferred
- Previous litigation experience preferred
- Applicant must reside in, or be willing to relocate to, the state of Maine
