About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop a solid understanding of the product, its features, and supported platforms by reviewing documentation, playing the game, and participating in team discussions, applying this context to testing activities.
  • Execute testing tasks within a defined scope, validating functionality, stability, and expected behavior, while ensuring results are accurately recorded using test management tools.
  • Design and organize test cases for assigned features or builds, selecting appropriate scenarios and ensuring test execution is complete, reliable, and traceable.
  • Perform exploratory testing within assigned areas to identify unexpected behaviors, usability issues, and edge cases that may impact the player experience.
  • Identify, document, and report defects clearly, providing reliable reproduction steps and supporting evidence, and verify fixes while monitoring for regressions.
  • Manage assigned testing work with a high level of organization, meeting deadlines and quality standards with increasing autonomy.
  • Communicate testing progress, results, and blockers clearly with QA and product team members, contributing to alignment during development cycles.
  • Collaborate with developers and designers to clarify requirements, acceptance criteria, and testing expectations.
  • Apply QA processes, standards, and tools consistently, while identifying opportunities for small improvements in day-to-day testing activities.
  • Continuously develop testing skills and product knowledge by incorporating feedback, learning from past issues, and reflecting on testing outcomes.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • English proficiency (B2 or higher), with the ability to understand documentation, write clear defect reports, and communicate effectively with QA and product teams. (Assessed)
  • Understanding of the video game development lifecycle and how QA activities integrate across stages such as feature development, iteration, release preparation, and post-fix validation.
  • Knowledge of software testing principles and QA practices, including functional, regression, and exploratory testing.
  • Familiarity with test case management and execution, including selecting appropriate test scenarios, recording results accurately, and maintaining traceability using test management tools.
  • Practical knowledge of defect reporting and tracking, including clear documentation of issues with reproduction steps, expected vs. actual results, and supporting evidence.
  • Understanding of quality standards and acceptance criteria, and how to apply them when validating functionality, stability, and player experience.
  • Awareness of test environments, builds, and configurations, including how different devices, systems, or settings can impact behavior and results.
  • Basic knowledge of supported platforms (e.g., mobile, PC, console, VR) and how platform differences may affect gameplay, performance, or defect reproduction.
  • Basic understanding of software development concepts and terminology, supporting clearer communication with developers and interpretation of technical issues.
  • Introductory knowledge of programming or scripting (e.g., understanding code structure, variables, or simple logic), helpful for analyzing defects and collaborating with developers.
  • Awareness of video game mechanics and player experience principles, contributing to more player-focused testing and usability evaluation.
  • Familiarity with exploratory testing techniques, including testing edge cases and varying inputs beyond predefined scenarios.
  • Understanding of Agile or iterative development workflows (e.g., sprints, stand-ups, backlog refinement) and how QA activities fit within them.
