About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Contribute to building a structured knowledge base linking products to their corresponding patents
  • Identify, qualify and document links between products, patents and commercial/economic data
  • Read and perform detailed analysis of patents, including claims and descriptions
  • Identify claimed compositions, ingredients, ingredient combinations and concentration ranges
  • Analyze use claims, effects and cosmetic or dermatological indications
  • Analyze product formulations from R&D databases and match key ingredients to patents
  • Analyze product indications and associated marketing claims
  • Correlate patent claims with product formulations
  • Assess the level of correspondence and document any discrepancies
  • Populate and update data in Anaqua
  • Structure a reliable mapping database and document methodologies
  • Collaborate with Patent, R&D, Marketing and IT teams
  • Track project progress, manage large volumes of data and escalate complex cases

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • CEIPI Patent Diploma (DU Brevet) or equivalent and a scientific background in chemistry or biochemistry
  • Ability to read and analyze patents
  • Basic knowledge of chemistry/biology to understand cosmetic formulations
  • Ability to analyze complex data
  • Rigour, methodical approach and analytical mindset
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary, cross-functional environment in a project-lead capacity
  • Ability to interact with R&D, Marketing, IT, Legal and Finance teams
  • Fluent French
  • English at B2 level for reading patents
  • Prior experience in patents required
