About the role

  • Holistic development of embedded systems comprising hardware and basic software for microcontroller- and microprocessor-based systems in the areas of defense, rail technology, and industrial control
  • Conception and planning of system architectures, hardware concepts and interfaces, taking into account functional, organizational and economic requirements
  • Development of embedded software (basic software, applications and prototype software) as well as low-level tests for common microcontroller classes
  • Independent development and sizing of analog and digital circuits within a defined overall architecture
  • Creation of EMC-compliant schematics and PCB layouts
  • Description, specification and documentation of systems and software, e.g. using UML and structured text
  • Definition and creation of test specifications as well as assembly, commissioning, optimization and verification of prototypes according to specification
  • Execution and supervision of internal tests as well as tests at external testing institutes

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of relevant professional experience in electrical engineering / electronics
  • Solid experience in the development of embedded systems with microcontrollers of various classes and manufacturers
  • Excellent knowledge of C and/or C++ for embedded software and low-level programming
  • Strong expertise in hardware development, particularly in the design and dimensioning of analog and digital circuits
  • Sound understanding of control units, microcontroller architectures and their systemic integration
  • Experience in describing and modeling systems with UML or a comparable modeling language
  • Very good knowledge of EMC-compliant design of electronic assemblies
  • Proficient with at least one EDA software, e.g. Altium Designer or comparable tools
  • Experience in creating test specifications as well as in executing and supervising tests
  • Experience working with testing institutes and certification authorities is desirable
  • Fluent German (spoken and written) — must-have
  • Good English skills
