About the role
- Holistic development of embedded systems consisting of hardware and base software for microcontroller- and microprocessor-based systems in the defense, rail technology, and industrial control sectors
- Conception and planning of system architectures, hardware concepts, and interfaces considering functional, organizational, and economic requirements
- Development of embedded software (base software, applications, and prototype software) as well as low-level tests for common microcontroller classes
- Independent development and sizing of analog and digital circuits within a given overall architecture
- Creation of EMC-compliant schematics and PCB layouts
- Description, specification, and documentation of systems and software, e.g. using UML and structured text
- Definition and creation of test specifications as well as construction, commissioning, optimization, and verification of prototypes according to specification
- Execution and supervision of internal tests as well as tests at external testing institutes
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience in electrical engineering/electronics
- Solid experience in the development of embedded systems with microcontrollers of various classes and manufacturers
- Very good knowledge of C and/or C++ for embedded software and hardware-near programming
- Very good knowledge in hardware development, especially in the design and sizing of analog and digital circuits
- Thorough understanding of control and switching devices, microcontroller architectures, and their systemic integration
- Experience in describing and modeling systems with UML or a comparable modeling language
- Very good knowledge of EMC-compliant design of electronic assemblies
- Proficient use of at least one EDA software, e.g., Altium Designer or comparable tools
- Experience in creating test specifications as well as conducting and supervising tests
- Experience working with testing institutes and certification authorities is desirable
- Very good German language skills, written and spoken (must-have)
- Good English skills
