About the role

  • Drive growth of the Analytical Instrument business across the Americas by improving execution, expanding customer relationships, and identifying new applications and market opportunities
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of regional sales representatives and application scientists, providing strategic direction and career development
  • Manage and expand a network of Latin American and other key regional partners
  • Act as a player-coach, working directly with academic, government, and industrial customers to achieve Americas revenue targets
  • Own customer relationships, manage expectations, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Deliver accurate quarterly and annual sales forecasts; assume responsibility for Americas P&L and lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs)
  • Monitor customer trends, market dynamics, and competitive activity, providing actionable insights to senior leadership and cross-functional teams including marketing and engineering
  • Manage key partner and customer relationships and actively participate in closing strategic opportunities
  • Balance people leadership and direct business ownership to consistently meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales goals
  • Travel up to 50% to engage with key customers, partners, and internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with support, service, finance, operations, engineering, and marketing teams to improve customer experience, optimize sales processes, and drive revenue recognition
  • Partner with Marketing on campaigns, promotions, trade shows, workshops, and other initiatives to drive lead generation and pipeline growth

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of progressive sales experience, with at least 5 years of people management experience
  • Demonstrated success driving sales growth in analytical instruments or a closely related industry
  • Strong understanding of academic and government funding cycles, procurement processes, and long sales timelines
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and executive-level influencing skills
  • Proven leadership capabilities with a business development mindset and a hands-on, “get-things-done” attitude
  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences required; Environmental Sciences, Geology, or Hydrology preferred
  • Spanish language skills are a plus
