About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define, prioritize, and communicate the product roadmap for workplace hardware and software products
  • Conduct customer interviews, analyze field and usage data, and synthesize market research
  • Author MRDs, PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Partner with R&D, engineering, manufacturing, QA, software development, and data analytics teams to deliver products on time and within budget
  • Participate as product owner in Agile scrum cycles, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, story review, and retrospectives
  • Collaborate on New Product Introduction (NPI) and Product Lifecycle (PLC) processes
  • Develop sales collateral, training materials, and competitive positioning; support pre-sales activities
  • Present products at conferences, trade shows, and customer sites; build relationships with gas utility accounts and industry stakeholders
  • Define KPIs, track adoption and field performance post-launch, and drive continuous improvement
  • Monitor competitive, technology, and regulatory trends in workplace exposure
  • Report to the Director of Application Development/Workplace Product Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical field
  • 2-3 years of experience in product management and overall 3-5 years of experience in applications engineering, or an equivalent role with product ownership responsibilities
  • Hands-on experience managing software, hardware, or ideally both products
  • Demonstrated familiarity with Agile software development methodologies
  • Experience as a product owner or active participant in sprint-based development
  • Experience with hardware product development processes, including NPI, design verification, and product lifecycle management
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; experience writing MRDs, PRDs, or functional specifications
  • Strong aptitude to articulate and execute on business strategy with a results-oriented, 'make it happen' attitude
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally approximately 20% of the time for customer visits, conferences, and trade shows
  • Preferred: Exposure to regulatory frameworks governing Ethylene Oxide or other acute or chronic hazardous gases, EPA reporting
  • Preferred: Experience with data analytics products, cloud-based SaaS platforms, or enterprise software for the energy sector
  • Preferred: Proficiency with product and project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Pendo, or Figma
  • Preferred: Prior experience in a startup or high-growth technology company
