About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist attorneys with all phases of litigation, transactional matters, and general legal support.
- Draft, review, proofread, and format legal documents, including pleadings, motions, contracts, discovery requests, correspondence, and legal memoranda.
- Conduct legal, regulatory, and case law research using online legal research tools.
- Organize, maintain, and manage physical and electronic case files.
- Prepare and electronically file legal documents with federal, state, and local courts.
- Coordinate discovery, including collecting, reviewing, organizing, and producing documents.
- Assist with trial preparation by organizing exhibits, witness files, trial notebooks, and other supporting materials.
- Schedule depositions, hearings, mediations, client meetings, and other legal proceedings.
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, vendors, and government agencies.
- Review contracts and legal documents for completeness and accuracy.
- Maintain confidential information in accordance with ethical and legal standards.
- Assist with corporate filings, business entity formations, regulatory filings, and compliance activities as assigned.
- Perform general administrative duties supporting the legal department.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of paralegal experience (litigation, corporate, healthcare, real estate, or other legal specialty preferred).
- Knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and legal documentation.
- Experience with electronic court filing (e-filing) systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting strict deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
- Experience with legal practice management and document management software.
- Knowledge of state and federal court rules and procedures.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to prioritize work in a deadline-driven environment.
- High ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality.
