About the role

  • Own your work from A to Z, including working on the architecture & coding features to monitoring releases' performance.
  • Get fast feedback from users and iterate quickly; update the backend multiple times a week based on usage.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., product, front-end) to design and deliver seamless user experiences.
  • Optimise existing endpoints, driving down latency and ensuring scalability to greater usages.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in backend development with Django and Django Rest Framework
  • Experience working with a relational database at scale, designing schemas, optimising Django queries, and running migrations with minimal downtime
  • Hands-on experience with a PostgreSQL/MySQL database larger than 100 GB
  • Experience designing endpoints in direct collaboration with frontend engineers, delivering both Open API and developer manuals/supporting documentation
  • Strong sense of ownership. Take initiative and make product & technical decisions.
  • Fluent in English (French is not required!).
