About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead two engineering organisations covering Salon Operations and Consumer
- Partner with Product, Design, Customer Success, Support, and fellow Engineering leaders
- Champion a customer-first engineering culture while balancing product delivery, technical excellence, reliability, and platform health
- Provide strategic engineering leadership across the domain
- Create clarity, alignment, and momentum while empowering teams to make decisions
- Oversee the Level 3 support model and improve reliability, tooling, and engineering practices
- Champion quality, security, performance, and operational health
- Translate business goals into an engineering vision and roadmap
- Drive initiatives that improve customer outcomes while balancing delivery, technical investment, and organisational priorities
- Coach and support Heads of Engineering and Principal Engineers
- Build high-performing, engaged teams and foster collaboration, continuous improvement, feedback, and growth
- Ensure teams have the people, processes, and support needed to succeed
- Use data and team feedback to improve performance, engagement, and ways of working
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven experience as a Director of Engineering or similar leading multiple teams/groups in a product software environment
- Experience as a manager of managers
- Strong track record in delivery leadership, including prioritisation, risk management, dependency coordination, and stakeholder communication
- Credible technical depth to challenge and support architectural choices without needing to be a hands-on contributor
- Experience partnering closely with Product to deliver customer outcomes
- Demonstrated people leadership, including coaching managers and managers of managers
- Experience developing senior individual contributors
- Ability to create clarity and psychological safety
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and making timely decisions with incomplete information
