Product Designer – E-Commerce
Phorest SoftwareProduct Designer creating user-centric solutions for Phorest's salon app, focusing on B2C experiences. Collaborating with Product and Engineering teams to shape and validate designs.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Champion our branded salon app within your team, utilising modern workflows and user-centric thinking to design impactful solutions that directly address our clients' evolving needs.
- Work in a product engineering environment, working closely with an engineering team to ensure what was shipped is meeting customer needs.
- You’re comfortable talking to customers, testing prototypes, and iterating on designs until you’re confident customers will be happy with your solutions.
- Challenge assumptions. While Phorest has a wealth of industry experience to tap into, with fresh eyes you will still want to validate ideas with our customers, many of which are right on our doorstep, or accessible through our very active community.
- Plan, run, and synthesise user research to validate assumptions, de-risk decisions, and improve the experience.
- Create wireframes, high-fidelity UI, and prototypes that clearly communicate intent and enable fast iteration.
- Design user-centred journeys across web and mobile, balancing accessibility, performance, and brand craft.
- Promote design best practices and raise the bar through constructive critique, feedback, and continuous improvement.
- Drive the evolution of the design system, partnering with Product and Engineering to elevate the patterns into a more modern, scalable framework for the branded app.
- Embrace and evolve our way of working. Bring a strong growth mindset to the ever-changing tech landscape, proactively explore, test, and integrate emerging AI-assisted workflows and design tools to define new, industry-standard ways of working efficiently and creatively.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4+ years product design experience (UX/UI).
- Strong UI skills and a sharp visual design taste, giving you the ability to step into a product with a solid existing foundation and successfully deliver a significant visual and aesthetic uplift.
- Strong understanding of information architecture, user experience, interaction, and visual design.
- Proficiency in Figma and design prototyping tools and design storytelling.
- Ability to apply user research methodologies and data to inform design decisions.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and responsive design.
- Driven user-centric design, through an understanding of user needs, behaviours, and motivations.
- Collaboration & communication skills, with the ability to build good relationships and communicate effectively both verbally and in written format.
- Problem-solving: Able to work autonomously in ambiguous or complex environments, including being comfortable working within technical infrastructure limitations and EU/US compliance frameworks that heavily impact user flows and UX writing.
- A can-do attitude with a growth mindset and eagerness to learn.
