About the role

  • Design web pages, brochures, logos, signs, books, magazine covers, annual reports, advertisements, and other communication materials.
  • Create these materials by hand or by using technology, including Adobe's Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and more.
  • Meet with web designers to understand their proposed web pages.
  • Create or incorporate illustrations, pictures, and designs.
  • Select type size and style to enhance readability.
  • Produce drafts for review by clients and revise based on feedback.
  • Review final productions for errors and ensure client specifications are met.
  • Conceptualize visuals based on requirements.
  • Prepare rough drafts and present ideas.
  • Develop illustrations, logos, and other designs using software.
  • Use appropriate colors and layouts for graphics.
  • Work with copywriters and creative director to produce final design.
  • Amend designs after feedback.
  • Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand.
  • Post content to various Web 2.0, audio, text, and other social media platforms.
  • Log posts to appropriate spreadsheets.
  • Create and develop multimedia content for various projects.
  • Script, storyboard, budget, allocate resources, and select optimal media forms for projects.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience as a graphics designer or in a similar role
  • Mastery of graphic design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Premier Pro, etc.
  • Knowledge of video and audio editing software programs is a big plus.
  • Solid knowledge of design and visual principles.
  • Demonstrated portfolio showing creative, design, and software skills.
  • Ability to evaluate choices critically, with the customer's needs in mind.
  • Ability to communicate design choices clearly.
  • Ability to take and follow directions, while also having a creative eye for improvements.
  • Good time-management skills.
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Great multi-tasking skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • General understanding of computers and digital equipment and knowledge of new and cutting-edge technology.
