About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Contribute to the specification, development and testing of complex propositions or numerical models, analysing a range of business data
Making recommendations to Senior Actuaries and/or senior management to support decision making.
Lead small scale projects or elements of large complex projects to support the business.
Act as actuarial subject matter expert on strategic business projects to ensure specialist input is provided.
Communicate effectively with a technical actuarial audience and simplify communications to a non-technical audience.
Provide technical leadership in key areas of expertise.
Apply commercial understanding of the business to ensure financial, business & actuarial advice is aligned with the needs.
Regularly work to defined and tight timescales whilst maintaining professional standards.
Balance business demand, issues and risks by applying judgement in complex scenarios, often with considerable uncertainty.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Fellow of Institute and Faculty of Actuaries or Society of Actuaries in Ireland
Extensive experience of Life Company Solvency II results and financial statements
In-depth understanding of Life Company products in particular unit-linked life and pension savings products, annuities (immediate and deferred) and protection products.
Pro-active and able to work autonomously
English
