About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Supervise the day-to-day activities of a claims handling unit
- Oversee the investigation of insurance claims
- Ensure corporate claims handling procedures and priorities are followed
- Ensure budget and productivity requirements are met
- Ensure department targets for customer service quality and priorities are met
- Participate in hiring, training, evaluation, and development of claims staff
- Manage the day-to-day handling and settlement of claims
- Oversee processing and tracking of documents and making payments
- Track trends and communicate with underwriting
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma required
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred
- 10 plus years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Associate in Claims, CPCU, or other industry-related studies
- Experience with Windows operating system
- Basic word processing skills
