About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support Alternator Electronics as a Product Engineer
- Understand alternator regulator and rectifier bridge needs for future high efficiency designs
- Maintain and update existing regulator and rectifier bridge products
- Lead team with activities needed for developing solutions for customers
- Direct all diode changes and sourcing
- Take input from Senior Alternator PE for new requirements or changes
- Support competitive assessment activities
- Work with all levels within engineering and PHINIA plants to convey knowledge
- Develop and maintain alternator electronics components with electronics suppliers
- Work with suppliers on cost savings initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with emphasis on electronics (BSEE)
- Strong understanding of electronics theory; related to power electronics, switching devices, and semiconductors
- High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, internally and externally to the company
- Strong analytical, statistical and problem-solving skills; ability to solve complex problems that require considerable judgment
- Computer literate: Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time to customer and plant sites (regionally and globally)
