About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop, implement, maintain, and optimize advanced process control (APC) applications (e.g., MaxAPC, DMCPlus, DMC3); troubleshoot and support control systems.
Design engineering solutions and the associated validation process to enable the realization of a design brief (for example, in terms of functionality, performance, aesthetics, and cost) that conforms to organizational and/or regulatory standards.
Manage technical troubleshooting projects, ensuring effective diagnosis of technical issues with equipment and experiments and the development of effective solutions.
Analyze and improve plant processes and equipment; lead improvement projects and major installations.
Create, manage, and update technical documentation, engineering drawings, and product specifications.
Conduct research and analyze technical data to inform engineering solutions.
Identify and apply emerging technologies (e.g., machine learning, real-time optimization) to control applications.
Support Alarm Documentation and Rationalization (ARA) activities.
Pursue ongoing professional development and maintain a strong commitment to safety.
Participate in plant improvement teams and lead major equipment rebuilds and installations.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
Willing and able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)
Valid driver’s license
Must be willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodations, to comply with the following:
Travel up to 5%
Operate company vehicle on site premises and/or public roads up to 20%
Work extended hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, and perform occasional duties
Transport articles up to 50 pounds
Climb ladders and stairs up to 200 feet
Work safely near large, hot, high-speed machines, around chemicals and hydrocarbons under high pressure and heat, and in harsh weather conditions
Wear fire retardant clothing and personal protective equipment
Maintain face daily for proper respirator/face mask seal. (some examples include being free of facial hair and/or clean shaven)
Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline
3 or more years of engineering experience in process engineering/design, process control, and/or advanced process control in refining, petrochemical, or a related industry
