About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist in all essential functions required for PASL
  • Report directly to the Senior Director of Operations
  • Ensure safe working conditions and support safety team objectives
  • Ensure laboratory personnel follow SOPs for chemistry, logistics, and microbiology
  • Manage daily operations within the chemistry, logistics, and microbiology Groups
  • Train, supervise, and provide direction to laboratory personnel
  • Facilitate the PASL-Warrenville Training Program for onboarding and annual competency training
  • Execute Quality Management System in accordance with internal and external standards
  • Create and oversee QA/QC procedures
  • Execute annual internal and bi-ennial external audits

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4-year bachelor’s of science degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant job experience
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong technical verbal & written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills (team player)
  • Ability to supervise and manage personnel
  • Ability to work overtime frequently, sometimes with little or no notice
  • Ability to work with potentially sensitive biological or chemical ingredients
  • Knowledgeable in the use of computers – MS Office, laboratory software, shipping programs
