Content Subject Matter Expert – Instructor

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the senior subject matter authority and course manager for assigned curricula — owning the full lifecycle from needs analysis through delivery and sustainment
- Design, develop, and maintain training products across modalities (ILT, VILT, eLearning, webinars, job aids, videos, mobile content, and performance support tools) using ADDIE and adult learning principles
- Deliver basic and advanced instruction in your discipline in classroom and virtual environments
- Partner with Instructional Systems Designers and Curriculum Managers to convert complex policy and operational concepts into instructionally sound courses and supporting materials
- Conduct Training Needs Analyses; recommend and design new courses, products, and awareness campaigns as mission requirements evolve
- Research and apply current security policies and authoritative references to keep content accurate, current, and compliant
- Develop and refine training materials — storyboards, instructor and participant guides, scripts, knowledge checks, case studies, exercises, and job aids — tailored to varied audiences including students, executives, and managers
- Lead or support transitions from classroom to virtual and blended delivery, integrating distance learning and micro‑learning where appropriate
- Provide SME input for Alpha and Beta testing of new and revised products; recommend improvements based on learner feedback and outcome data
- Respond to student and stakeholder inquiries with timely, authoritative guidance on course content and real‑world application
Requirements
What you’ll need- Active Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship
- Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of applied experience implementing and operating security programs in your area of expertise — OR eight (8) years of applied security program experience in lieu of a degree
- Demonstrated mastery of the policies, practices, and operational knowledge within your security discipline
- Demonstrated SME credibility in one or more of security disciplines (Personnel Security, Industrial Security, Counterintelligence, Insider Threat, Information Security, Physical Security, etc.)
- Active SPēD certifications: SFPC, CDP, SAPPC, ISP, or equivalent
- Experience delivering instruction in both in‑person and virtual/synchronous environments
- Experience supporting LMS migration or training modernization initiatives.
