Design, deploy, and maintain robust virtual infrastructure using VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
Monitor and optimize performance of virtual environments to ensure high availability and reliability.
Perform upgrades, patches, and lifecycle management of VMware infrastructure components.
Troubleshoot complex virtualization issues across compute, storage, and networking layers.
Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions for virtual environments.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including networking, storage, security, and application support teams.
Create and maintain detailed documentation for configurations, procedures, and best practices.
Evaluate and recommend new virtualization tools and technologies to improve efficiency and scalability.
Support capacity planning and performance analysis for virtual environments
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with **VMware vSphere**, **ESXi**, and **vCenter** in an enterprise environment.
- Deep understanding of virtualization architecture, clustering, high availability, and DRS.
- Experience with VM provisioning, automation, and template management.
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts as they relate to virtualization (vSwitches, VLANs, etc.).
- Proficiency with VMware tools such as vRealize Operations, vMotion, and Storage vMotion.
- Experience in scripting (e.g., PowerCLI, PowerShell) for automation and management tasks.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
**Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills:**
- Familiarity with other virtualization platforms (e.g., Hyper-V, KVM, Nutanix AHV).
- Experience with hybrid cloud or public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, VMware Cloud).
- Exposure to containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and integration with virtual infrastructure.
- Knowledge of backup solutions like Veeam, Cohesity, or Commvault.
- VMware certifications (e.g., VCP-DCV, VCAP) are a plus.
**Education:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field – or equivalent practical experience.
