About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Promote Pfizer’s product portfolio to healthcare providers and specialists
- Educate members of the healthcare community regarding the appropriate use of Pfizer products
- Call on accounts and organized customers to improve patients’ experience with Pfizer products and the quality of patient care
- Increase Pfizer’s brand with high-value target customers
- Assess account and/or business landscapes
- Apply knowledge of Pfizer products and resources to account strategies
- Promote a broad portfolio of products
- Generate demand for Pfizer products in assigned accounts
- Develop comprehensive territory, account, and customer plans
- Maintain relationships throughout institutions
- Overcome obstacles to gain access to difficult-to-see healthcare providers and customers
- Cultivate relationships with KOLs and build lasting relationships with top-priority customers
- Assess target physicians’ and accounts’ needs and address them with appropriate resources
- Engage, influence, and support customers throughout the selling process
- Leverage multiple resources in a matrix environment to meet customer needs and deliver results
- Cover a territory including, but not limited to, San Francisco, San Jose, and Salinas, California
Requirements
What you’ll need- BA/BS Degree from an accredited institution OR an associate’s degree with 8+ years of experience OR a high school diploma (or equivalent) with 10+ years of relevant experience
- Ability to travel domestically and stay overnight as necessary
- Valid US driver’s license and driving record in compliance with company standards
- Any DUI/DWI or other impaired driving citation within the past 7 years will disqualify you from being hired
- Minimum of 4 years of previous Pharmaceutical Sales experience or minimum of 4 years of previous Oncology Healthcare Professional (HCP) experience working with key Oncology thought leaders or high influence customers in hospitals, large group practices or managed care organizations
- Demonstrated track record of success and accomplishment with previous Pharmaceutical Sales experience or Healthcare Professional (HCP) experience
- Exceptional aptitude for learning and ability to communicate technical and scientific product and disease management information to a wide range of customers
- Demonstrated high degree of business acumen
- Proficiency using complex digital applications and ability to adapt to Pfizer’s long-range technology model
- 3-5 years of Oncology sales experience (preferred)
- Experience in Melanoma / Colorectal Cancer Therapeutic Area (preferred)
- Master’s Degree (preferred)
- Advanced Healthcare Professional (HCP) Degree (preferred)
- Experience calling on institutions, NCI centers and Key Opinion Leaders (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of disease states, therapeutic areas, and products
- Deep knowledge of applicable customers and markets
- Strategic account selling and management skills
- Superior selling, technical and relationship building skills
- Demonstrated ability to engage, influence and support customers throughout the selling process
- Excellent communication and interpersonal and leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and embrace new ways of working in a rapidly changing environment
- Ability to work in a matrix environment and leverage multiple resources to meet customer needs and deliver results
- Candidates must be authorized to be employed in the U.S. by any employer
- Permanent work authorization in the United States required
