About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide day-to-day support for Pfizer’s WAN, Internet, and Cloud DMZs
  • Coordinate activities supporting WAN/DMZ Service Owners and business, Digital, or internal CISO-driven changes
  • Manage administrative and talent-management activities for WAN/DMZ Network Engineers
  • Manage escalation support for Network Operations
  • Interface with business liaisons and Service Owners to ensure network-service stability
  • Provide network subject matter expertise for WAN, DMZ, and cloud technologies
  • Own global WAN and telecom service delivery
  • Manage provisioning, modification, renewal, and decommissioning of enterprise WAN, Internet, MPLS, SD-WAN, cloud connectivity, and telecom services worldwide
  • Ensure connectivity requirements for sites, datacenters, cloud platforms, and business initiatives are delivered on time
  • Oversee telecom billing, invoice processing, chargebacks, forecasting, budgeting, vendor billing compliance, and cost transparency
  • Manage TEM-provider relationships and carrier-invoice allocation
  • Lead carrier and service-provider relationships, negotiations, installations, billing disputes, and operational performance
  • Lead network-modernization initiatives involving SD-WAN, cloud networking, datacenter connectivity, resiliency, remote-worker connectivity, Teams optimization, and cloud interconnects
  • Develop business cases and implementation strategies for next-generation network services
  • Provide technical governance for WAN architectures, cloud connectivity, carrier services, capacity planning, provisioning standards, router lifecycle, and infrastructure decisions
  • Support vulnerability remediation and network-hardware refresh programs
  • Maintain telecom inventory, contracts, service inventories, carrier assets, and spend data
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and analytics for budgeting, forecasting, audits, and operational decisions
  • Coordinate cross-functional infrastructure projects with Cloud, Security, Digital Workplace, Datacenter, Manufacturing, Site Services, Procurement, Finance, and vendors
  • Provide telecom guidance for new sites, upgrades, relocations, acquisitions, and transformation efforts
  • Resolve critical network, provisioning, billing, and carrier issues
  • Evaluate network readiness, capacity, resiliency, and service risks; provide executive-level recommendations
  • Coordinate failover testing, complex routing and security changes, and telco bandwidth upgrades
  • Perform capacity and optimization analysis with NetOps
  • Identify automation and continual service-improvement opportunities and support implementation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, or engineering
  • 6+ years’ experience working in a business/corporate environment in a network capacity
  • Experience managing colleagues, contractors, or MSP resources to effect change
  • Experience with basic IP routing and protocols in a large IP network
  • Experience provisioning MPLS networks and services
  • Understanding of secure SD-WAN design and operations
  • Understanding of network automation and scripting
  • Solid understanding of DNS, VPN/Tunnels, VLANs, NAT, Firewalls, LACP, 802.1Q trunking, VRRP, Ethernet WAN, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP-4, OMP, and MPLS
  • Ability to troubleshoot/debug issues, determine causes, and drive resolution
  • Understanding of SD-WAN cloud design and components
  • Understanding of SD-WAN equipment implementation and operation
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in an agile work environment with a collaborative mindset, adaptability to change, and proactive problem-solving
  • Must possess skills necessary to understand IP network and security components
  • Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree, CCNP or higher, ITIL knowledge, and related technical/business postgraduate education are preferred
  • Candidates must be authorized to be employed in the U.S. by any employer
  • This position requires permanent work authorization in the United States
  • U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future
