About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and execute the enterprise directory services roadmap
- Modernize legacy directory infrastructure
- Establish standards for directory design and governance
- Lead directory consolidation and migration initiatives
- Oversee the design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of directory services
- Ensure directory services are scalable, resilient, highly available, and integrated with internal and third-party services
- Collaborate with IT, security, development, product, Cybersecurity, Authentication Services, Infrastructure, Cloud Engineering, End User Computing, and Application teams
- Provide guidance on secure access management best practices
- Ensure directory solutions align with GDPR, HIPAA, NIST, SOX, GXP, and other applicable standards and regulations
- Lead development and implementation of authentication and authorization security controls
- Manage vendors and third-party providers through implementation and ongoing support
- Lead investigation and resolution of directory functionality issues
- Ensure efficient incident management and implement improvements to minimize disruptions
- Improve end-user experience by simplifying login processes while maintaining high-security standards
- Reduce authentication friction and increase user adoption
- Develop KPIs for directory performance and security metrics
- Report on directory effectiveness, user engagement, security breaches, and other relevant metrics
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline
- 6+ years of experience in identity and access management, with at least 4 years focused on Directory solutions
- Strong background in IT security, authentication protocols, and IAM frameworks supporting directories with greater than 50,000 users
- Deep understanding of LDAP/LDAPS, Directory schema, replication, and GPOs
- Experience with PKI solutions
- Knowledge of Microsoft AD, AD LDS, and Azure AD
- Ability to solve highly complex authentication and authorization problems within a global environment
- Strong understanding of identity-management security best practices, including encryption, tokenization, and secure protocols
- Experience leading IAM system support, engineering, and operations teams within a Global Business Unit
- Understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and GXP quality regulations and guidelines
- Proven track record of managing and executing long-term complex projects
- Demonstrated experience in an agile work environment
- Master’s degree in relevant discipline preferred
- Deep expertise in Microsoft solutions highly desirable
- Periodic international and domestic travel required (less than 10%)
- Must be authorized to be employed in the U.S. by any employer
- U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future
- Requires permanent work authorization in the United States
- Ability to work through a personal laptop computer or mobile device for extended periods
