About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the technical strategy for one of Pfizer’s key Digital Platforms, connecting business priorities, enterprise architecture standards, and emerging technology into a roadmap and target-state architecture
  • Serve as the Platform’s design authority, defining target architecture, technical standards, integration patterns, and major technical decisions
  • Lead and develop engineering teams that build and operate the Platform
  • Partner with senior business and Digital leaders, product owners, and divisional teams to translate needs into technical choices, delivery models, and measurable outcomes
  • Define responsible use of AI, automation, and modern engineering practices to improve speed, quality, decision-making, governance, and verification
  • Build a high-performing team and foster technical excellence, accountability, inclusion, and continuous learning
  • Establish expectations for reliability, security, documentation, observability, compliance, resilience, and operational excellence at global scale
  • Influence cross-team architecture decisions and guide technical outcomes across architecture, engineering, and platform operations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 12+ years of significant senior engineering and technical leadership experience in enterprise platforms, cloud, or large-scale technology delivery
  • Experience owning technical strategy and architecture for a significant platform, product, or technology domain
  • Ability to lead and develop engineers, architects, and technical leads
  • Deep, hands-on expertise in modern engineering practices, cloud platforms, data and integration patterns, APIs, security, and reliability
  • Experience partnering with senior business and Digital stakeholders to shape technical direction, investment choices, and measurable outcomes
  • Experience in a highly regulated, global enterprise environment with complex compliance, privacy, security, and risk expectations preferred
  • Experience applying AI-enabled delivery, automation, and platform reuse preferred
  • Track record of influencing senior leaders, building trusted partnerships, and creating clarity in ambiguous, high-impact situations preferred
  • Recognized technical depth in the Platform’s core technology domain preferred
  • Candidates must be authorized to be employed in the U.S. by any employer
  • This position requires permanent work authorization in the United States
  • U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future
