About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own end-to-end commercial assessments for a portfolio of early- and mid-stage obesity assets across multiple mechanisms and development stages
  • Build product concepts and Target Product Profiles and develop disease-area strategies
  • Shape early development strategy in partnership with clinical and research colleagues
  • Interpret business unit and obesity franchise strategy to establish program priorities and direction
  • Integrate forecasting, pricing, HCP demand, future landscaping, and patient-flow modeling into commercial plans
  • Support core global asset deliverables aligned with clinical profile, customer insights, and competitive positioning
  • Monitor external market, competitive, and policy developments and adapt asset strategies
  • Evaluate lifecycle management and expansion opportunities and develop business cases and scenario analyses
  • Support business development evaluations and due diligence
  • Lead strategic initiatives across the broader obesity portfolio, including emerging access models
  • Advance assets through enterprise governance milestones and prepare governance materials
  • Present asset-level and portfolio strategy and investment cases to senior leadership
  • Mobilize cross-functional resources and manage consultants or agency partners as needed
  • Champion innovation, appropriate risk-taking, and knowledge sharing across the commercial development organization

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BA/BS required
  • Minimum 8 years of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or related industry experience
  • Experience in commercial development, new product planning, marketing, portfolio strategy, or related strategy roles
  • Proven experience leveraging AI to enhance work deliverables and speed of delivery
  • Knowledge of obesity, cardiometabolic, or related therapeutic areas
  • Familiarity with the pharmaceutical development process
  • Familiarity with the regulatory process for drug approvals
  • Demonstrated ability to execute effectively in highly dynamic and evolving markets
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly and succinctly
  • Advanced degree (MBA, PharmD, PhD, MD, MPH, or equivalent) preferred
  • Advanced scientific and business acumen with experience in obesity or metabolic disease preferred
  • Experience supporting early-stage development assets and development strategy preferred
  • Experience collaborating with R&D and Commercial cross-functional partners preferred
  • Experience with market research execution preferred
  • Experience developing forecasts, asset valuations, business cases, and scenario analyses preferred
  • Experience supporting business development assessments or due diligence preferred
  • Experience preparing and presenting strategic recommendations to senior leadership or governance forums preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct line authority preferred
  • Ability to analyze complex clinical, commercial, and financial data sets and translate findings into strategic recommendations
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, changing business needs, and significant ambiguity
  • Ability to participate in extended strategic planning, governance, and operational review meetings
  • Domestic and international travel up to approximately 10–20%
  • Must be authorized to be employed in the U.S. by any employer
