About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead strategic planning for Pfizer's global R&D real estate portfolio
- Develop and implement global and regional R&D site strategic plans
- Guide portfolio planning, site master planning, laboratory design and planning, and capital plan execution
- Identify cost savings, operational efficiency, sustainability, and innovation opportunities
- Represent R&D site and portfolio priorities in global GWE capital plan governance
- Lead cross-functional strategic projects from conception to completion within timelines and budgets
- Oversee project plans, estimates, cost phasing, scoping solutions, and senior leadership reviews
- Coordinate internal stakeholders, vendors, and consultants
- Enhance workplace experience and building operations through best practices, innovation, and technology solutions
- Align infrastructure, space utilization, and workplace experience strategies across global R&D
- Advise Therapeutic Area and Science Platform leaders on long-range real estate and space planning
- Communicate strategic updates, milestones, and outcomes to senior leadership and department heads
- Provide input to PMO, Sustainability, Engineering, and Program Management leaders on group strategy and processes
- Manage, mentor, and develop up to three direct reports
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Architecture, Real Estate, Facilities Management, Life Sciences, or a related field
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in project management, workplace strategy, or real estate/facilities portfolio planning
- Experience supporting R&D, laboratory, or scientific environments and enabling technology initiatives
- Strategic planning, project management, and real estate/facilities management experience in a highly matrixed, global organization
- Ability to lead, influence, and build consensus among senior science and business leaders
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
- Leadership experience leading cross-functional teams and driving change initiatives
- Proficiency in project management tools and software
- Ability to balance competing priorities across R&D therapeutic areas, science platforms, and global sites
- Ability to develop, implement, and govern global real estate/portfolio strategies
- Strong understanding of biotech/pharmaceutical R&D real estate needs, laboratory, and scientific space considerations
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices in real estate and facilities management
- Candidates must be authorized to be employed in the U.S. by any employer
- Position requires permanent work authorization in the United States
- U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future
- Ability to travel globally approximately 25–30%
- Ability to work flexible hours across multiple global time zones
