About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Owns and continuously evolves the strategy for the integrated DG, CS, and BC Audit and Enhanced Gemba program, aligning scope, cadence, and methodology across all three risk domains.
Serves as the primary point of contact within Global Logistics for the integrated audit and Gemba program, representing the function in cross-functional governance forums with Logistics, Trade Compliance, Quality, and Global Security.
Establishes and maintains an integrated global site inventory and risk model spanning DG, CS, and BC across in-house and third-party logistics (LSP) sites, PGS, WRD, and CMO facilities, and updates it on a yearly basis.
Actively monitors and ensures compliance with all global DG, CS, and BC regulations, local laws/rules, and applicable corporate policies, standards, and site-level SOPs.
Plans and schedules risk-based L1 audits and compliance assessments covering DG, CS, and BC at all in-scope sites (PGS, WRD, CMO, LSP, and other logistics centers) through on-site, remote, or electronic methods based on assigned site risk tier.
Creates and updates yearly risk assessment for all sites in scope which will be used to identify the audit schedule.
Plans and executes risk-based Enhanced Gemba reviews at in-scope logistics centers (in-house and LSP), validating real-time operational compliance and surfacing systemic risks that point-in-time audits may not capture.
Creates the annual integrated audit and Gemba schedule, ensuring appropriate cyclical coverage for each risk domain.
Participates directly in on-site audits, electronic assessments, and Gemba reviews; authors or supports audit plans, Gemba review plans, and resulting reports.
Reviews audit and Gemba reports prior to publication and ensures corrective action plans are appropriate; works with site and Logistics contacts to ensure corrective actions are addressed in a timely manner.
Reviews responses with L1 auditors and Gemba reviewers prior to closeout, ensuring findings, responses, and corrective actions are consistent across the global network.
Approves and monitors corrective actions (CAPAs) from audit and Gemba activities through to completion.
Attends audit and Gemba closeout meetings, virtually or in person, to review findings with site and Global Logistics leadership.
Serves as point of contact for DG, CS, and BC L2 audits conducted by RQA and L3 audits conducted by RDS.
Supports site audits or inspections by external regulators when needed and interacts with regulatory officials globally as required.
Creates and manages an auditor training and certification program covering DG, CS, BC, and Enhanced Gemba methodology for team colleagues.
Assigns auditors and Gemba reviewers within the team to conduct global audits and reviews at 100+ sites, balancing assignments against site risk.
Provides integrated audit and Gemba metrics on a monthly basis, including findings, trends, and corrective action status across all three risk domains.
Communicates audit and Gemba activities and outcomes to Global Logistics leadership, CSCF leaders, and site leadership.

Requirements

What you’ll need

BA/BS with 6+ years of experience or MBA/MS with 5+ years of experience or PhD/JD with 1+ year of experience or MD/DVM with any years of relevant experience.
Experience leading an audit program, including developing risk assessments, audit schedules, and training curricula.
General knowledge of Dangerous Goods regulations (e.g., IATA DGR, IMDG Code, ADR/RID), Controlled Substance regulations, and Business Continuity Management principles (e.g., ISO 22301) as applied to logistics, warehousing, and distribution operations.
Familiarity with Gemba walk / operational excellence methodologies and the ability to apply them within a compliance audit context.
Sound knowledge of product lines, processes, and associated technologies to effectively facilitate communication with stakeholders.
Ability to think strategically, with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Operates with the highest level of integrity and professionalism, and exhibits sound judgement at all levels.
Proficient in MS Office applications (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to analyze and troubleshoot issues, identify CAPAs, and propose actions.
Familiar with Good Manufacturing/Good Distribution Practices and other regulatory requirements.
Demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities, including the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, and guide the work of colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
Proven ability to handle complex and global projects efficiently.
