About the role

  • Conduct systematic workflow assessments across HQ Medical Affairs and Field Medical to identify high-impact AI transformation opportunities
  • Document current-state processes (inputs, steps, outputs, templates) to create structured specifications for AI-enabled workflow design
  • Prioritize workflow opportunities using impact–effort analysis and operational readiness, in partnership with the Medical Affairs AI Lead
  • Design AI-enabled operating models: workflow playbooks with decision trees, quality checkpoints, and escalation protocols
  • Create standardized operating procedures (SOPs) for AI-assisted processes that meet compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Partner with Compliance to ensure workflows support MLR review requirements, adverse event reporting obligations, and promotional/non-promotional guidelines
  • Design and deliver role-based AI literacy and enablement programs (e.g., Field Medical, Medical Directors, Medical Information, Publications)
  • Implement habit-stacking and coaching strategies to integrate AI naturally into existing workflows and daily routines
  • Identify and develop AI champions within functions to provide peer support and accelerate grassroots adoption
  • Create and communicate success stories and case studies that demonstrate impact in relatable, function-specific terms
  • Build feedback collection mechanisms and continuous improvement loops to enhance AI output quality (accuracy and usability)
  • Coordinate with regional Medical Affairs teams to adapt playbooks to local requirements and support global rollout

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in life sciences, pharmacy, or related field (PharmD, PhD, MD, or equivalent preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in Medical Affairs (HQ or Field) with hands-on experience
  • Strong fluency with generative AI tools; hands-on familiarity with LLM APIs and context engineering
  • Proven experience in process improvement, workflow optimization, and/or operational excellence initiatives
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Experience navigating compliance and regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical industry and working effectively within enterprise governance
