About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and maintain automated data collection processes using APIs, web-scraping tools and external market data sources.
Source, validate and monitor datasets to ensure high levels of accuracy, quality and reliability.
Clean, transform and model data using Python, Pandas and SQL.
Support European Gas and LNG analysis through datasets covering flows, storage, supply and demand fundamentals, and cargo tracking.
Analyse data to identify trends, anomalies and market insights that support business decision-making.
Build dashboards, visualisations and analytical tools for traders and analysts.
Collaborate with Data Scientists to develop and enhance analytical, AI and machine learning solutions.
Utilise modern AI-assisted development tools to improve efficiency, automation and delivery.
Maintain high standards of data governance, security and documentation.
Take ownership of projects from requirements gathering through to deployment and ongoing support.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Previous experience within data analytics, data engineering or a related analytical role.
Strong Python programming skills, including working knowledge of Pandas is essential.
Experience using SQL to transform, analyse and manage datasets is highly advantageous.
Familiarity with APIs, web-scraping or automated data collection techniques.
Experience building dashboards, visualisations or analytical tools for end users.
Good understanding of version control tools such as Git.
Experience working with structured, semi-structured and unstructured data.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
High attention to detail and commitment to data quality.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Interest in energy markets, commodities, Gas or LNG is advantageous.
Experience developing analytical or forecasting models.
Exposure to AI, machine learning or AI-assisted development tools.
Experience working with market data providers, vendor APIs or cloud-based data platforms.
Knowledge preferably of Gas, and/or LNG, Power although other commodity markets will be considered.
