Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as a key business partner and contribute to business strategy development and key business decisions by aligning the workforce with business strategies and operations
Apply knowledge of key business drivers in strategic decision-making, planning, and execution
Promote best practices and collaboration across departments while implementing HR solutions
Facilitate cross-functional groups to solve complex problems and accomplish challenging objectives
Create a culture that resolves conflicts quickly and addresses underlying issues
Evaluate organizational vision, mission, structures, processes, and people
Research, identify, and address organizational effectiveness issues
Conduct assessments to clarify the current state
Design, recommend, and facilitate implementation of solutions aligned with Petco’s overall direction
Communicate professionally and effectively with distribution center associates and professional contacts
Independently prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes
Perform additional responsibilities or tasks assigned by the manager based on business needs

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree and ten years progressively responsible related experience is required or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
Master’s degree preferred
HR certification (PHR or SPHR) preferred
Strategic thought leadership and history of implementing successful programs across complex organizations
Success as an effective member of a cross-functional senior management team with measurable business impact
Advanced ability to respond to new opportunities, demands, and challenges by mobilizing and engaging the organization
Advanced knowledge of human resource functions and processes, organizational culture, design, development, effectiveness, business objectives, and strategies
Ability to research information and analyze data to reach valid conclusions, recommendations, and action plans
Conceptual and process thinking abilities, including understanding complex relationships and interdependencies
Ability to turn concepts into action and achieve desired results in a fast-paced environment
Experience conducting comprehensive quantitative and qualitative needs analyses, organization design and development initiatives, change model implementation, and organization structure development
Ability to prepare comprehensive reports and clearly present ideas orally and in writing
Judgment and discretion in maintaining working relationships in a collaborative, matrixed environment
Success leading, influencing, and persuading diverse groups across management and employee levels
Advanced conflict resolution skills
Experience coaching senior and executive management
