About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Working with the Vice President, Logistics & Distribution and Directors of Domestic Transportation and International Logistics.
Lead the physical assimilation of information and data to build and validate the annual transportation budgets.
Duties will include the organizational process of review of history, rationalize the proposed expenditures versus requirements.
Ensure any capital expense charges are included or considered in the annual process.
Responsible for the weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual review of actual performance versus plan and/or budget.
Analyze and determine appropriate terms of sale and corresponding reductions in cost of goods sold.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Requires a B.S./B.A. in Business, Logistics, Transportation or other related discipline; MBA desired.
Five years experience in transportation or logistics role in a retail environment preferred.
Must have strong knowledge of standard Transportation import and export processes and D.O.T. requirements.
Requires prior experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and a strong background with modeling tools and freight payable systems.
Qualified candidates will possess strong analytical skills and have advanced skill level with MS Excel and Access.
Strong interpersonal communication skills are necessary due to the nature and level of interaction with management and other department personnel a well as negotiations with vendors and carriers.
