About the role
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and management to Petco owned full-service hospitals.
- Drive hospital growth and deliver performance objectives.
- Manage, develop, and provide mentorship to hospital veterinarians.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures, laws, and regulations.
- Oversee hospital radiation safety and compliance programs.
- Monitor and report veterinarian adherence to medical standards.
- Collaborate with operational leadership to manage escalated client concerns.
- Assist in recruitment, interview, hiring, and onboarding process.
- Support the performance of hospitals and prepare operating and capital budgets.
- Travel frequently between area hospital locations with potential overnight travel up to 20%.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school or its equivalent
- Active licensure as a veterinarian without contingencies in the states in which the assigned hospitals are located
- Minimum 4 years of clinical practice experience
- Current DEA license
- Current Controlled Substance License, if applicable
- USDA Category I Accreditation or completion within two months of hire date
- Valid Driver’s license and clean driving record required
- Strong knowledge of medical operations including assurance of medical quality and driving regular team educational enhancement opportunities
