About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Partner with product teams on high-impact projects to solve performance challenges
- Dive deep into incidents to uncover architectural causes
- Design, build, and promote reusable resilience patterns and tooling
- Own and advance the observability strategy
- Mentor and coach engineers to raise technical bar
- Establish and drive a new Operational Excellence review process
- Help define and measure SLOs for critical user journeys
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of experience building and shipping complex production systems
- Direct experience in performance, scalability, or observability is a significant plus
- Enjoys mentoring other engineers and can clearly explain technical ideas
- Deep expertise in metrics, logs, and traces
- Experience in instrumenting complex, distributed systems
- Ability to listen with empathy and build trust
- Ability to build robust libraries and tools that improve other engineers' work
- Takes Initiative and is comfortable with ambiguity
