About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the strategy, design, and administration of Perry Homes’ benefits programs, with a strong focus on improving our self-funded medical plans
  • Proactively evaluate plan performance, utilization, costs, and employee feedback to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Partner with brokers and vendors to recommend thoughtful, data-driven changes that benefit both employees and the business
  • Stay current on benefits trends and bring forward ideas to enhance our offerings
  • Lead and develop the Benefits Specialist, with clear ownership of coaching, growth, and skill development
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits questions, partnering with the Benefits Specialist to resolve issues and build their capability over time
  • Ensure both the manager and specialist share the administrative workload while maintaining strong service levels
  • Lead the Perry Homes Benefits Committee, including meeting cadence, agendas, and follow-ups
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, and Talent leadership to align benefits decisions with business priorities
  • Present clear recommendations and updates to stakeholders
  • Ensure benefits communications are clear, timely, and easy to understand
  • Lead open enrollment planning and execution end-to-end
  • Act as a trusted resource for employees and leaders on benefits-related matters
  • Own day-to-day benefits administration, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strong documentation
  • Lead FMLA leave and ADA accommodation processes, ensuring compliance, best practices, and streamlining communication.
  • Oversee Workers Compensation compliance and reporting
  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
  • Build and maintain organized processes, timelines, and reporting for all benefits work
  • Be highly organized and proactive, anticipating needs rather than reacting to issues
  • Work closely with the Head of the Talent Organization to provide regular updates, insights, and recommendations
  • Partner with Payroll, Finance, Legal, IT, and external vendors to ensure seamless execution
  • Escalate risks and opportunities early, with solutions in hand

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of progressive benefits experience, including self-funded plans
  • Prior experience managing and developing a direct report
  • Strong understanding of benefits compliance and governance
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities independently
  • A self-starter who takes ownership and follows through
  • Strong communicator who can translate complex benefits topics into clear guidance
  • Experience in a growing or multi-state organization is preferred
