About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide leadership and operational discipline to technicians, contractors, and maintenance staff during daily activities
  • Coordinate responses to emergency support calls
  • Support safety, quality, productivity, and cost initiatives
  • Provide customer service to production operations through safe, timely, and professional practices
  • Execute preventive maintenance according to schedule and support regulatory compliance
  • Direct technicians and support staff to meet customer expectations and production schedules
  • Interface with department leaders to remove roadblocks and provide production support
  • Support quality initiatives, change control, validation, cGMP training, and engineering standards
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and qualify critical parts
  • Maintain a safe work environment and support corporate goals
  • Build employee engagement and a culture of efficient execution and continuous improvement
  • Develop budget proposals, control approved budget charges, and monitor/report expenditures
  • Supervise maintenance associates, including hiring, training, performance management, mentoring, and development
  • Lead root-cause problem solving and equipment troubleshooting
  • Identify and implement process improvements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or at least 5 years of experience in supervision of industrial maintenance operations
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Experience using CMMS systems
  • Ability to handle and resolve conflicts and maintain confidentiality
  • Previous pharmaceutical industry experience – preferred
  • Working knowledge of compressed air, dust collection/vacuum, pharmaceutical HVAC, water systems, and facility infrastructure systems
  • Experience in cost control, safety, and GMP quality systems
  • Strong program/project management, leadership, team building, and mentoring skills
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvements with minimal supervision
  • Commitment and drive to improve manufacturing operations
  • Working knowledge of PLC controls, technical drawings, and Microsoft Office
  • Understanding of continuous improvement techniques including Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma, and 5S
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
