About the role
- Provide technical expertise and solutions to support operations in the Allegan MI manufacturing plant
- Explore innovative and alternate solutions to meet business needs while providing great customer service
- Work closely with the entire engineering team, quality, and operations team
- Interact daily with other functional areas and multi-functional teams
- Review production data and address urgent business needs in a timely manner
- Track line efficiency and monitor changes to ensure impact and ROI are achieved
- Coordinate and lead continuous improvement projects aimed at waste reduction and efficiency improvements
- Act as technical expert with a broad knowledge and deep expertise of the latest packaging equipment
- Provide training to operations and various support groups as an SME
- Organize and generate all relevant data to prepare project scopes and cost estimates
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing or Engineering Management preferred
- Established understanding of engineering theoretical fundamentals of equipment operation
- Ability to read and understand drawings, flowcharts, schematics, as it relates to system design documentation
- Demonstrated understanding of lean principles and six sigma processes
- Ability to make sound economic analyses
- Demonstrated experience with quality systems in an FDA current GMP regulated environment preferred
- Hands-on knowledge of production operations and associated control systems preferred
