About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate and perform field service activities, including instrument installation, on-site and depot repair, and preventative maintenance visits
- Communicate with customer accounts for scheduling and follow-up
- Communicate with Territory Sales Managers regarding account activity
- Maintain CRM records for warranty, service plans, and account contacts
- Initiate and complete service requests and follow up with accounts
- Provide service reporting from field and depot service
- Respond to technical support telephone and email requests
- Assist Engineering and Manufacturing with investigating production and design problems
- Recommend modifications to design and manufacturing procedures based on field experience
- Provide input and guidance for repair procedures
- Develop and edit SOPs for service and repair
- Maintain working relationships with US Production, Service, and Engineering functions
- Report to the Director of Global Service
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in a Scientific, Engineering, or Technical discipline
- 5+ years of experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Service environments
- Interest and ability to work with customers by phone or face-to-face
- Laboratory or clinical environment experience is an advantage
- Familiarity with electronic testing procedures
- Experience with advanced measurement tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes is a plus
- Instrument assembly and disassembly skills and knowledge
- Computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite, CRM systems, and the internet
- Ability to work individually or in a team environment
- Ability to manage own schedule effectively
- Ability to work independently when required
- Ability to travel as needed
- Based in North Carolina or Maryland
