About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop a strong, working technical knowledge of the portfolio of products serving the food and grain markets.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue goals for capital sales of lab instruments in the food industry.
  • Lead and mentor a team of sales professionals, providing direction, support, and training to maximize their potential and performance.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key clients, industry stakeholders, and distribution partners across North America.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product development, and customer support teams to ensure alignment of sales objectives with overall company goals.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, preparing regular reports for senior management to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Participate in industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events to promote our brand and explore new business opportunities.
  • Demonstrate strong initiative and willingness to take ownership of results.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years capital sales experience, with a focus on capital sales in the food industry or laboratory instruments
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving significant revenue growth
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in building and managing high-performing sales teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships with clients and partners
  • Ability to analyze data and use insights to inform sales strategies and decision-making
  • Competitive nature and proven track record of consistent sales achievement
  • Proficiency working at the highest levels within customer organizations is critical (President/CEO, CTO/CSO and CFO and other key influencers)
  • Thorough understanding of business factors effecting account's profitability and competitive status
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and industry events
  • Must possess and maintain driver’s license.
