About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Operate, monitor, and adjust processing, packaging, and other production equipment to support safety, quality, and production goals.
  • Follow established operating procedures, food safety requirements, quality standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and safety protocols.
  • Handle ingredients, packaging materials, finished goods, and other production materials safely and accurately.
  • Perform equipment start-ups, shutdowns, changeovers, sanitation activities, and shift handoffs.
  • Complete required quality checks to ensure products meet specifications for quality, consistency, packaging integrity, weights, counts, and code dates.
  • Monitor equipment performance and process conditions, identify issues, and make basic adjustments within established standards.
  • Troubleshoot minor equipment and process issues while escalating more complex concerns to the appropriate team members.
  • Accurately complete production records, quality documentation, sanitation logs, and system entries.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready work area.
  • Support our Integrated Work Systems (IWS) operating model by following standard work, performing centerline checks, participating in daily direction-setting activities, identifying and escalating defects, and supporting basic equipment care activities.
  • Partner with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Sanitation, and other teams to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and equipment reliability.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives by sharing observations, documenting issues, and helping identify root causes.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing, food manufacturing, processing, packaging, machine operation, warehouse, or production experience preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate and monitor manufacturing equipment in a production environment.
  • Ability to follow standardized work processes and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, food safety requirements, GMPs, sanitation practices, and workplace safety standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately complete quality checks, documentation, and system entries.
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic math skills, including working with measurements, counts, weights, and production records.
  • Ability to use computers, tablets, scanners, and manufacturing systems for data entry and recordkeeping.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions.
  • Demonstrated accountability, reliability, and a commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to identify issues, escalate concerns appropriately, and support equipment care and operational excellence activities.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, and/or move up to 50 pounds throughout a shift.
  • Ability to work assigned shifts, overtime, weekends, holidays, and schedule changes as needed.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and work in a manufacturing environment that may include noise, heat, dust, moving equipment, ingredients, and packaging materials.
