Engineering Manager

• Align Engineering with the Business
• Work closely with the founder, product managers, customer success, and sales teams to ensure that the engineering team and their work are well-aligned with the rest of the company.
• Keep the product roadmap and engineering priorities aligned. Ensure that we have a healthy balance between maintaining the functionality and performance of the existing product while shipping new features.
• Build a World Class Engineering Culture
• Recruit, interview, and screen candidates for the engineering team. We'll rely on you to grow the team with the right people.
• Manage and grow the engineering team. Set expectations, hold one-on-ones, and take responsibility for enabling a high-performing group of engineers to do their best work.
• Set the engineering culture. You'll work with the team to refine how we work, review code, test for quality, and ship changes. We're looking for someone who can advocate for and support agile software practices that help the team work as efficiently and happily as possible.
• Increase Engineering Velocity
• Cut the time from customer problem to shipped code, and make AI the main lever: agentic coding tools, AI in code review, testing, migrations, and triage.
• Jump in and ship when it unblocks the team. That might mean taking a feature yourself, fixing a flaky test suite, or making a call nobody else is making.
